Across the Middle East, millions of young people are striving to build meaningful futures amidst economic uncertainty, political instability, and the long-term effects of conflict and displacement. 1001 Stars: Jobs4All is a regional programme dedicated to turning that determination into opportunity.

Developed through a partnership between the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and GlocalShift Foundation, this two-year initiative supports youth and entrepreneurs across Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria. It aims to bridge the persistent gap between education and employment by equipping participants with the skills, networks, and opportunities needed to secure decent and sustainable jobs.

In Lebanon and Jordan, unemployment remains among the highest in the region, particularly among youth and women. Years of economic stagnation have left thousands of graduates unable to find work that matches their potential. Meanwhile, Palestine continues to face severe economic restrictions that limit access to markets, movement, and resources, creating profound barriers to youth employment and entrepreneurship. In Syria, more than a decade of conflict has devastated infrastructure, disrupted education systems, and left millions of young people disconnected from the labour market and from the chance to rebuild their lives and communities.

1001 Stars: Jobs4All responds to these challenges by offering a comprehensive approach that combines skill development, curriculum modernisation, and direct employment support. The programme provides market-relevant training, mentorship, and internship opportunities, helping participants transition from learning to earning. It also supports small business creation and entrepreneurship, enabling young innovators to generate livelihoods within their own communities.

Working closely with local partners and educational institutions, the programme invests in modernising existing curricula to reflect the evolving needs of the labour market, including the growing importance of digital skills, renewable energy, and sustainable industries. By strengthening local ecosystems and fostering collaboration between education providers, employers, and communities, 1001 Stars: Jobs4All seeks to create lasting impact beyond short-term job placements.

At its core, the programme is driven by a simple belief that every young person deserves the chance to shine. Whether through a new skill, a first job, or a thriving enterprise, 1001 Stars: Jobs4All is helping youth across the region build dignified, resilient, and prosperous futures.
