1. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND

2. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Project Coordinator plays a lead implementation role within Gaza team. Working under the direction of the Palestine Country Manager, the Coordinator is responsible for planning, leading, and overseeing key project activities on the ground. The role requires strong organisational and leadership capacity, with responsibility for guiding and supervising Project Assistants to ensure quality and timely delivery of all project components.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Startup Competition Coordination
- Lead the planning and end-to-end coordination of startup competition, including application management, participant selection, pitching events, and the awards ceremony.
- Design and manage competition timelines, evaluation criteria, and jury coordination in consultation with the Country Manager.
- Oversee communication with competing teams, ensuring they are well-informed and supported at every stage.
- Identify and address bottlenecks or risks in competition delivery, escalating where necessary.
3.2 Training & Capacity Building
- Lead the coordination and delivery of training sessions, workshops, and boot camps for entrepreneurs and startup teams.
- Develop training schedules and work with facilitators, trainers, and guest speakers to ensure coherent and impactful programme delivery.
- Review training materials and ensure quality standards are maintained across all sessions.
- Monitor participant engagement and progress, adapting delivery approaches as needed.
3.3 Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead outreach strategy and ensure effective community mobilisation to recruit eligible participants, with a focus on youth, women, and underrepresented groups.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key local stakeholders including universities, business networks, civil society organisations, and community leaders.
- Represent GlocalShift at external forums, partnership meetings, and community events.
- Oversee the project's community communications and contribute to social media and visibility efforts.
3.4 Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Lead implementation of the project M&E framework, ensuring accurate and timely data collection across all activities.
- Review and consolidate M&E data submitted by Project Assistants and contribute to internal and donor progress reports.
- Conduct or supervise qualitative data collection including focus groups, case studies, and beneficiary interviews.
- Proactively identify implementation gaps and present solutions to the Country Manager.
3.5 Event Management
- Take lead responsibility for planning and executing all project events including launch events, demo days, networking sessions, and award ceremonies.
- Manage event logistics end-to-end: venue, equipment, catering, invitations, and on-site coordination.
- Supervise Project Assistants during event delivery to ensure professional execution.
3.6 Team Supervision & Administration
- Provide day-to-day guidance and task supervision to the Project Assistants, ensuring clear role allocation and workload management.
- Support the onboarding and capacity development of Project Assistants.
- Maintain project documentation, filing systems, and activity calendars.
- Process and review administrative tasks including procurement requests and expense reporting in line with GlocalShift procedures.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Palestine Country Manager.
4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably within an NGO or development context.
- Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of training programmes, events, or community initiatives.
- Solid understanding of M&E principles and experience in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
- Proven ability to coordinate teams and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills in Arabic (required) and English (written and spoken, strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital project management or communication tools.
- Willingness and ability to work in the Gaza Strip under challenging operating conditions.
Desirable
- Experience in entrepreneurship, startup ecosystem development, or youth economic empowerment programming.
- Familiarity with the local Gaza context and established community or stakeholder networks.
- Prior experience managing donor-funded project activities and contributing to donor reports.
- Experience in social media management or project communications.

6. REPORTING & WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
The Project Coordinator reports directly to the Palestine Country Manager. The role provides day-to-day supervision to the Project Assistants. The position is based in the Gaza Strip, with field-based work across project target communities.
