We are pleased to announce the launch of a new project funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), dedicated to supporting Palestinian students enrolled in health science programmes at Egyptian universities.
At a time when Gaza faces unprecedented devastation, this initiative aims to ease the immense financial and emotional burdens faced by students whose families continue to live under the effects of war and blockade. Many of these young people have spent years working tirelessly towards their degrees, yet the destruction and loss in Gaza have made it almost impossible for them to complete their studies.
Through this project, tuition fees will be covered for Palestinian graduates in health-related fields, ensuring that their education and the hope it represents are not lost.
Objectives of the Project
- Supporting Palestinian students
Provide immediate financial assistance to students struggling to complete their graduation requirements, protecting years of academic effort from being interrupted by circumstances beyond their control. - Preserving scientific competencies
Enable graduates in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and other health sciences to enter the labour market and serve their communities at a time when Gaza suffers from an acute shortage of qualified medical professionals. - Alleviating humanitarian burdens
Ease the psychological and financial pressures borne by students and their families, offering them a measure of stability and reassurance amidst continuing hardship. - Promoting solidarity
Demonstrate a shared commitment to human dignity and collective responsibility by standing alongside Palestinian students during these extraordinary times. - Building a better future
Invest in education as a pathway to recovery, empowering a new generation capable of rebuilding their communities and contributing to humanitarian and health causes.
Education as a Lifeline
For these students, education is more than a qualification. It is a lifeline of hope and continuity. Each graduate represents a future doctor, nurse, or pharmacist who will one day help restore Gaza’s healthcare system and serve those most in need.
This partnership between AFESD and GlocalShift Foundation reflects the enduring belief that education remains one of the most powerful tools for resilience and renewal.
Together, we are supporting Palestinian youth to complete their education and fulfil their potential as future healthcare leaders, embodying the values of compassion, knowledge, and service that their communities so urgently need.
